We were asked to design the cover artwork for the July 2009 issue of the Berlin based magazine PROUD. The outcome is a typical 44FLAVOURS style, which is what they asked us for. Originally we wanted to play with mixing different typefaces, but then I sketched out the first design and it was a real burner. I decided to top that one with every design that followed. It all came automatically, off hand and still made sense in the end. I really believe that you get the best results from spontaneity. Your subconscious is always processing information and you tap into it when you just let the pen flow. If you think too much you might stifle the whole creative process. We did a couple of different versions, but at the end we decided to build up an installation with collected items which we thought might work with the theme of creativity and which connect to the whole fashion thing. The zine came out right on time for the Summer 2009 FASHION WEEK, here in Berlin.
