44flavours — Death Star Droid Remix EP

We’ve been working with ROBOT for a while now so with every new design that we create for him it really feels like we have to top our previous work.  It’s a bit like shadow boxing. For the remix EP follow up to his DEATH STAR DROID album I started out by sanding and coloring a whole set of small pieces of wood. After priming all of them I painted the title in a dark font, added some characters and collage elements. These elements and fonts were arranged in a circle and connected with a broken line, this became the front cover. The back was literally the backside of the wood which really looks like an abstract sculpture. Sebastian was the one responsible for the back-side layout. For this he chose the Trajan font because of its beautiful serifs which work really well with the metal side of the painting. This cover is another good example of our hand-made style mixed with a clean computer finish.
