We’re 80′s / 90′s kids. We grew up on big clunky consoles and video games that made beautifully primitive sounds. We used those big ass controllers and joysticks, far too big for today’s world. 8-Bit Objects was a group show that took place in Hamburg and dealt specifically with 8-Bit inspired art. Since pixels have been used and abused in contemporary art for years now – straight picked to the bare bone – we decided to make a sculpture of our very own retro / organic console and controller. We used a mixture of wooden floor panels and some simple electronics which made the piece light up with LED lights and play space laser melodies at the push of a button. I’m sure we’ll be showing this piece again.
